Top Mobile Phones in 2019

Irrespective of what you may have heard about phones getting boring this 2019, there was really a lot of movement in the mobile category this year. The significant progress made with battery capacity and cameras were really more than compensating not to even mention the aggressive moves made by companies to lower prices.

The year gave us quite a number of phones like Motorola Moto G7, Samsung Galaxy S10e, Alcatel Go Flip 3, Apple iPhone 11Pro, Blackberry Key2 LE, Samsung Note 10+, Apple iPhone 8, Google Pixel 3a, Google Pixel 4, Oneplus 7 Pro, just to mention a few.

So which phones were the best? Let’s look at this considering some very important keys ranging from battery life, speed, camera, display to “pocket-friendliness”.

Camera

Google Pixel 3a is my top pick in this category. It came with the best camera experience. Its rear camera comes with an aperture of f/1.8 and 12.2MP as well as optical and electronic image stabilization while the front camera has a single 8MP lens with an aperture of f/2.0.

Despite being non waterproof and without a microSD slot, Google Pixel 3a has a gorgeous OLED display and solid performance.

Innovative

I am giving the class of innovation to Apple; the iPhone 8 and iPhone 11 pro gave us some features to talk about. The wireless charging feature of the iPhone8 is actually a major improvement and the fact that iPhone 11pro has 3 cameras with great flexibility, and excellent LTE options including dual Sim.

At this point I must admit that if you are looking for a low budget phone, please do not go near iPhone, they are really expensive.

Great Value for Money (Pocket-friendly)

One of the phones that came with a great value for money in 2019 is OnePlus 7 Pro. This phone gave us 3 times value of what is paid for it.

There are other phones that actually fall in this category but at the top of my list here with an absolutely smooth software is OnePlus 7 Pro.

Speed

Want to talk about the fastest available smartphone; OnePlus 7 Pro is the real deal. It’s Octa core, Android 9.0 with Oxygen OS 10.0.2 and QualcommSM8150 Snapdragon 855 (7nm) gave it the much-needed speed.

Screen Display

Samsung Galaxy S10e came with an amazing colour and screen clarity. Though it has a low light camera performance, and not-so-accurate fingerprint sensor but its screen display is quite impressive.

Battery Life

Motorola Moto G7 Power has an excellent battery life in its category. This phone offers up to 3 days non-stop power with optimized usage.

Which is your favourite 2019 phone?
